Lent: An Island of Sanity

Hello, Erbody! I hope you’re still going strong this week and crushing all your goals!

You know, when I chose more consistency and less quantity of posts, I found myself struggling to keep abreast with all the current trends one can write about. But I’ve always been a late bloomer so I take it all in my stride! What I get to is what is meant for me😊

So last week was Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent. I teach at a Catholic school so I tend to be privy to the prominent days that the Catholic church observes. Now, I’m not Catholic and at first, I was reluctant to participate in everything because I find it disrespectful to do so when you don’t fully understand the doctrine behind the various practices. I have, however, chosen some practices and used them in my own Baptist understanding of God’s word.

I liked last week’s message for this year’s Lent. In a world so full of hatred and difficulties, we are called to be Islands of Sanity. Whether you believe in God or not and whether you are disgruntled by all that the human race has and continues to do in the name of God, I think if we chose to be good to ourselves and to each other, the world would be a better place.

So during this time of Lent, I hope you choose to be the Island of Sanity for those in your own world and even more importantly, for yourself!

Thank you so much for popping in! Have a fantastic week ahead😘
