Questions from Charlie Dee

1. Which of your blog posts is your favourite?

Without a doubt, Sweet Embrace is my favourite. It was the first time I wrote something resembling poetry and it truly captured where my heart was at at the time. To this day, when I go back to this post, my heart flutters and I remember that moment… sigh

2. What is your favorite food?

I love Mexican food! Those who have had Mexican food from Mexico and the States tell me that South African Mexican food doesn’t come close! One day I want to try it!

3. What is your favourite colour?

Green! All shades of green! not just for the nature reasons but just because, well, it’s green!

4. Do you have a secret talent?

It’s not much of a secret but it’s my go-to talent when the question is raised. I play the guitar and I also sing. I think of it more as a hobby or even a skill than talent, though! “Talent” carries with it such a pressure to be amazing and I’d rather not prove it, lol!

5. Which season is your favorite?

I’m a winter baby, but I love Spring and Summer. I love long days, heat, summer dresses, and ice-cold drinks. It’s just a less heavy time of the year and it feels like I’m on holiday all the time! Also, the trees are greener and the flowers are blooming!

6. What song would be your theme or anthem?

I don’t know how you choose just one song! there is so much music out there! John Mayer is my guy any day of the week, though and I also love the Muffinz, a South African band, but if the lyric resonates with where I’m at in life at the time, if the guitar lick is good and the harmonies sweet, if a song is light-hearted and makes me smile at the wonder of the world, then that is my anthem – well, at least until the next best thing comes along!

7. Who is your favorite celebrity

I fluctuate with this one too, actually. I like a celebrity that seems to be nice to meet. I like my celebrity captivating in one way or another. If they embody an aspect I would like to be or am already, then they are my celebrity!

8. Do you have a favorite book?

Mohale Mashigo, The Yearning. Mashigo writes stories that are captivating and characters you wish you could be friends with. A sadness came over me when I finished this novel because I could no longer immerse myself in these people and their lives…

9. Do you have a favorite movie?

Definitely Finding Nemo. A father that would ride in the belly of a whale, swim with turtles, hop on the tops of jellyfish and befriend sharks all in the name of rescuing his son? I mean, what’s not to love?!

10. Do you have a series you’re binging on right now?

Not right now, but I did just finish binging Big little Lies and Good Trouble. I also need to catch up on Suits.

11. What is the one thing you love most about blogging?

I love talking and sharing and I tend to do a lot of both! It started as a pass time almost 10 years ago and I have been talking ever since!

My nominees:

You! Yes, you! If you’re reading this then get in on this! I’m supposed to nominate just 11 other bloggers, but there are too many of you that inspire me to be a better blogger so I choose to extend this invitation to all of you who would like to participate! Besides, there’s never a limit to sunshine and positivity so get on board!

Questions from me:

  1. Which of your blogs is your favorite and why?
  2. How long does it take you to finish and post a blog post?
  3. What is your favorite thing about yourself?
  4. What do you do for fun?
  5. How do you self soothe?
  6. What is the one thing you can’t go a day without?
  7. What inspires your posts?
  8. What’s your favorite clothing item?
  9. What is the one thing you would spend money on regardless of the cost?
  10. Tomato sauce (ketchup) on the side or over your chips (fries)?
  11. If you had one more day to live, what would you do for that day?

I’ll  chat you guys soon! Keep smiling😘

Beast Mode

Hey everyone!

Another Wednesday has rolled by and I’m so glad you’re here!

I’ve had a pretty good and productive week with a wealth of new knowledge. How has your week been so far?!

Tonight I wanna talk about gym life; one of my favourite things to do for fun and also for that dream body! For me, working out and being fit is the only thing that makes me feel good in my own skin. I hope to do it for as long as my body will allow!

I don’t sweat, I sparkle!

So, a few weeks ago I started doing parkrun. Check out my post about that here. I must say, it humbled me! I tell you, just because you can run a lot of kilometres on the treadmill does not mean the ground will be easier. On the treadmill, your legs are merely responding to the pull of the belt. I barely lift my legs to get going. The ground, on the other hand, is merciless! You are completely on your own and propelling yourself forward is all on you! I definately did more sweating than sparkling out there!

Look like a beauty train like a beast!

I refused to be discouraged ( even though I actually was)! So, this week I took to running outside on Monday and today to get myself ready for Saturday. I got some tips from fellow parkrunners who had to slow down to my granny pace and push me to keep going – capitalise on the downhills and straights by picking up the pace a little bit and breathe as much as possible through your nose.

Monday was gruelling but today went much better. I’m proud of myself for showing up and giving it my best and I can’t wait to see how I do this coming Saturday! I’ll let you know how it goes🙂

So I guess the lesson is very clear: Nothing that we accomplish comes easily or without hard work. Sometimes you have to go back to the drawing board and replan; It’s part of what makes life such an adventure!

Anyway, be good to yourself this week and give everything you do your very best! Thank you for popping in and I’ll see you on Sunday😘

Memory Lane

Hey Everyone!

I trust the week is being good to you😊

Before I ramble on about myself, I’d like to take a moment to appreciate you! Thank you for popping in on this blog, taking the time to read and even liking my posts. It’s been a pleasure to write for you especially over the last few months! Thank you! Thank you!

I used to blog on another platform that sent me the link to the old site. I spent a lot of yesterday going down memory lane and, as I keep saying, what you write is so much sweeter in retrospect. I was really amazed at all that was spilling out of me at those times. I sounded so spunky and for the most part had a positive outlook on life.

Anyway, if you’re keen for some extended reading you can find my How Tos here

Why don’t you share with me your favourite post so far. I would love to hear from you!

Thanks for taking a peek today! Have a beautiful week. We’ll chat again on Sunday😘
