Alpha

Is an alpha an alpha or really only an alpha because their audience has put them on the alpha pedestal?

I admire alphas. They are unwavering. They never seem to lose confidence in themselves or their abilities. They are cool, calm and collected; all the time! They are always in control of themselves; I love that.

I wish I was that unaffected and in complete control. But I tend to be a bit of an awkward, giggly, insecure, please like me mess yet that’s not how my people perceive me. My people think I’m dripping in confidence! This got me thinking that maybe being an alpha has a great deal to do with a self understanding and not really control. It’s knowing why you do what you do and understanding your processes and not being afraid or ashamed of who and how you are. I kind of disregard for failure because there is learning in those experiences.

And so I reiterate what was shared in a recent anonymous post. Own the space you find yourself in. Own who you are because that is where your alpha lies.

Thank you for popping in today! It’s always so good to have you here! Have an amazing week😘

Proud

2019 has been weird, hasn’t it? I can’t decide what type of year it has been, can you? I can’t quite put my finger on why.

In the spirit of remaining positive at all times, though, I am so proud of myself despite how unusal this year has been. I was putting together this month’s anonymous post and it hit me: I have managed to maintain this series for the whole year. All the year, guys!

Every year, we set goals and resolutions aiming to be the best version of ourselves, but every year, we become lackadaisical around March. But not me; not this year! That’s something to be proud of!

Be proud of yourself no matter what has or has not happened to you this year, because no matter what, you’re still standing. You’re stronger and better because of everything that has crossed your path.

Thank you so much for popping in! It’s always a pleasure to have you around😘 Have an awesome week!

Better Than Me

No one knows how to lift my spirits better than me.Just put me behind the wheel and give me an adventure to embark on.

No one knows how to make my heart flutter better than me. Play me something beautiful, progressions with minors and husky voices and words that sing what I feel.

No one takes care of me better than me. Give me my matchbox flat, flavours to mix in a pot that nourish my belly and my soul.

No one calms me better than me. Make the room quiet and leave me to my own devices.

No one knows me better than me and no one loves me better than me because I’m all I’ve got…

So as an affirmation exercise to boost self esteem and my view of myself, I have a list of adjectives pasted at the top left hand corner of my mirror. Every morning before I get ready for the day, I look at my reflection and I say these adjectives out loud.

Number one on my list is that I am beautiful and when I start getting dressed, I’m more motivated to put more effort into my appearance.

Today, one of my colleagues pulled me aside and proceeded to tell me how beautiful I look today. She emphasised how different it is from how I normally look. The compliments kept coming and not from her alone!

So here’s my theory: when you make a statement about yourself, you start acting it out. Once you act it out, others see it in you.

There you have it: I am beautiful because I say so…
